Having been with Brewers for only a few months, I have gained so much knowledge on the painting and decorating industry. I am able to advise customers on niche sectors and help decide on the products that would best suit their needs. I have been signing myself up for courses to gain more knowledge and expand what information I have to be able to help customers even more than what I already can. When orders come in, whether that’s from another branch or a supplier, I am able to receive this onto the system and file the paperwork in the correct locations. I can assist customers face to face, I also answer the phones; assisting with queries and taking payments over a secure payment line, and I spend time answering and sending emails.

I completed a 6 week training programme, learning about energy and Shell’s processes to guide customers through queries. I learnt how to use programmes such as Zendesk to log tickets and Nice in contact to speak to customers via the telephone.

Working at Odeon as a manager, I was the main driver behind each operational shift, ensuring each function throughout the cinema journey created a magical experience for our guests. I took responsibility for my teams’ performance throughout my shifts and made sure everyone was always motivated enough to strive for our targets. I created and fulfilled orders throughout the week on a software called Cinema Solutions and then would have to receive them once they have arrived on site.As a key holder, I was expected to open and close the building, counting the money at the end of the night and inputting the data onto an excel spreadsheet. I replied to emails, answered the phones and dealt with guest queries face to face in an exceptionally professional manner. I also dealt with recruitment alongside the general manager, analyzing applications that come through on a website called Job train, choosing potential candidates, setting up and carrying out telephone interviews and moving them forward in the job role process, finally ending with an induction.

I began working with a friend on the social media for Berkshire Boxx, a company in Maidenhead owned by one lady. I work every day creating content to help the Instagram and Facebook page grow and essentially, the business itself grows. I was on call with anything that was needed throughout the week and every day I spent time going through social media channels, interacting with other business accounts and users who interact with us, answering questions via direct messenger, and the comment section.

Working alongside the founder of The Theatre hub, we created social media posts, competitions and take overs by west end stars. I was lucky enough to attend a lot of shows and assisted with the writing of reviews. I also videoed all interviews carried out by the website and took the photos that were posted to the social media channels.

Main duties were ensuring I gave each guest a memorable experience and taking direction from the managers on shift. I always exceeded expectations and worked my way up to one of the management team.

During a gap yea at university, I learned different skills whilst working on the food counters. The job taught me how to be patient with customers and really opened my eyes to health and safety within the workplace, being my first time working with food. Bringing in deliveries allowed me to practice my time keeping skills and the ability to prioritise efficiently as I was bringing in a lot of frozen and cold products.
