The Green and White Gala is the annual fundraising event for Michigan State University Alumni living in the greater Washington, DC area. The goals for this event are to raise money for the Betty Mitchell Colden Endowed Scholarship Fund, to promote the Spartan Spirit within the Washington DC MSU Alumni community and to honor a distinguished alumnus living in the greater Washington, DC area.In the first year, the chairs developed the concept for the event, brainstormed and successfully executed publicity and fundraising strategies and created a signature event. At the Second Annual event, the team raised over $10,000, and had over 150 attendees. I was personally resposible for the event's publicity and external relations. I created the event's website, social media platform, planned smaller networking events and continuously built the event's network base. I also recruited honoree, Teresa Sullivan and other distinguished MSU alumni.
