Worked as Senior Advisor for elementary and secondary schools in Southern California as they worked to improve teacher collaboration and study instructional methods. This work involved assisting building principals and district administrators in developing their capacity to understand the change process and develop a culture of collaboration in their schools and districts. Responsible for developing teacher-leaders in their ability to facilitate the collaborative process with their peers as they learned to use a structured inquiry protocol to improve instruction.

Provided research and evaluation services for all projects nationally. Developed and facilitated the assessment strategies used to monitor program effectiveness. Produced data so immediate action could be taken to improve each learning path. Created and delivered training on the process of collecting program effectiveness data, analyzing and utilizing results to make adjustments when planning future professional development sessions. Produced mid-year and end-of-year reports for project directors so that the data could be used for feedback to advisors delivering the services as well as building and district leaders that were responsible for the implementation of the protocol in each setting.

Provided instruction for the Teacher Education graduate program in Introduction to Research & Statistics and Effective Teaching Practices. Managed all governmental compliance issues for the largest Title I program in Nebraska, ensuring that $45 million in grant funds were spent according to federal regulations. Prepared administrators in 75 schools for state reviews and assisted them in organizing the necessary documentation for federal and state compliance reviews and audits. Educated district and building personnel on the requirements of No Child Left Behind (NCLB) and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) laws as they relate to Title I by developing and presenting informational training sessions. Successfully implemented targeted-assistance programs in 30 elementary, middle and high schools in the Omaha Public Schools.

Worked within the Omaha Public Schools to implement the Pearson Learning Teams program of lesson study and action research. Facilitated Regional Administrator meetings with the 17 participating principals and other district staff to assist in program implementation. Met with principals one-on-one each month to monitor building progress and determine training needs. Delivered monthly school-site training for grade level team facilitators. Visited grade level meetings to assist in development of facilitator skills. Coordinated, developed and conducted training at summer and winter institutes. Served as contractor to the Nebraska Department of Education to create a statewide careers curriculum for middle schools. Determined end product requirements and developed timeline for completion. Coached diverse group of subject matter experts from across the state through development of curriculum modules. Ensured consistency and accuracy of curriculum documentation and final product. Facilitated product evaluation and revision through pilot phase in 42 Nebraska schools. Assisted with statewide marketing and web-based launch. Completed the project several months ahead of schedule.

Developed content for an online staff development program that utilizes teaching videos to help calibrate administrators and train teachers in best practice.

Led curriculum and assessment development at the secondary level in the areas of mathematics, science, business, physical education, and STEM. Directed the district-wide High Ability Learner (HAL) program and conducted a total program review and redesign. Was recognized at the state level for leadership in the field of Gifted Education. Developed and delivered hundreds of hours of professional development for teachers at all grade levels around Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment. Served as a mentor teacher in the nationally-recognized CADRE Project, where exemplary teachers of promise are paired with a master teacher while completing their graduate degree during their first year of teaching.
