DAOS is an open-source software-defined object store designed from the ground up for massively distributed Non Volatile Memory (NVM), while presenting a key-value storage interface and providing features such as transactional non-blocking I/O, advanced data protection with self-healing on top of commodity hardware, end-to-end data integrity, fine-grained data control and elastic storage to optimize performance and cost. DAOS supports multiple application interfaces including POSIX, Hadoop/Spark connector, TensorFlow-IO, PyTorch, native Python bindings, HDF5, & MPI-IO.- Led the transformation of DAOS from an R&D project to a production-capable storage stack ready for exascale deployment at hundreds of PB.- Scaled the DAOS organization from a small team to 5 teams, responsible for new feature development, validation, customer support & enablement, pathfinding, and the underlying development infrastructure & tools. - Established team processes, standards, & metrics for project management. Primary owner of project management for the organization.- Introduced new quality processes & CI infrastructure to ensure high quality releases.- Day-to-day leadership of engineering from product & requirements definition through delivery and ongoing support & maintenance. - Led the on-time execution of ~$40M in NRE development and building a 230PB, 25TB/s, storage system for the Aurora exascale supercomputer for Argonne National Lab, anticipated to be the fastest storage system in the world. - Built the business case for Intel to invest in the DAOS commercial business & influencer for executive approval. - Built & managed partner and end-customer relationships to build the DAOS ecosystem & business pipeline.- Spokesperson representing DAOS via conference presentations, panels, and demos, as well as media events and the DAOS YouTube channel.
