In the Family Dog department, I was a main point of customer contact for average dog owners looking for resources in dog training and fun engagement with their dogs. I processed certifications for our variety of training programs aimed at the average dog owner, and educated owners about the merit of AKC registration for their dog to be able to earn certifications and compete in activities and sports.I provided education to the public and processed certifications for the following programs:• Canine Good Citizen: the main focus of the Family Dog program, the Canine Good Citizen program is a series of basic obedience tests certifying a handler and dog's ability to safely interact with the public and maintain control in public settings. The CGC program is often used as a basis for further Therapy dog or Service dog training, as well as proof for insurance companies about a dog's safety.• Trick Dog: owners complete 5 different levels of trick training, including trick routines to keep owners and dogs engaged in a fun way. Trick Dog training is often a great companion for therapy dog training so that dogs can show off tricks and routines to therapy visitors. Some tricks are also useful as foundations for other dog sports like agility, rally, and obedience. This is a gateway for everything you can do with your dog.• AKC Temperament Test: tests dogs' reactions and ability to navigate a variety of obstacles and stimuli such as varied floor textures, unexpected loud noises or sudden movements, unfamiliar people and objects, in order to gage the fundamental soundness of a dogs' temperament and certify no excessive reactivity or fear. This is useful for dog handlers and breeders.• Virtual Home Manners: a virtual version of the CGC test meant to engage owners during the pandemic. Also a great home training resource for those without access to trainers close by
