The University Fellowship is a selective year-long position. University Fellows collaborate on university-wide initiatives in order to better the experience for current and future students. Specifically, I work in the President's Leadership Program in the area of Leadership Development. Responsibilities Include:• Programming for Leadership Development• Building student relationships through 1:1 meetings with Freshman and Juniors• Providing opportunities for reflection post-leadership opportunities• Creating and maintaining relationships with the Leadership Minor staff• Tracking student progress through the program through a variety of formal and informal methodsAdditional Opportunities:• Mentoring student leaders on an alternative spring break trip program• Assisting three case study teams as they competed at the International Leadership Association Conference in San Diego, California.

As a campus campaign coordinator for TFA, I worked alongside the recruitment staff to build a movement on campus s to address the issue of educational inequity. CCCs work behind the scenes to develop and execute a detailed strategic plan aimed at inspiring top students to apply for the 2014 corps, and motivate underclassmen to get involved in this issue in some way. The campus campaign coordinator’s schedule is determined by the recruitment manager given the needs of this specific campaign. Responsibilities Include:• Networking with professors and student organizations to secure Teach For America presentations in classes and meetings• Regularly collecting and entering data that will inform the campaign• Conducting Teach For America class and student organization announcements throughout the year• Managing and executing a high-visibility publicity campaign ensure Teach For America maintains a strong presence on campus, which may include hanging posters and flyers; tabling in high-traffic areas; executing effective e-mail campaigns; and securing media coverage in campus publications, on websites, and on campus radio stations• Identifying and reaching out to top students on campus throughout the year, including students of diverse backgrounds and majors• Planning and executing highly-attended events on campus such as information sessions and alumni panels• Assuming responsibility for the success of the campaign on your campus by preparing for and actively participating in weekly team meetings with Teach For America staff
