Responsibilities as a Warehouse Summer Student at the Mount Polley Mine were focused mainly around logistics, organization, and shipping/receiving tasks such as: - Forklift operation: Operating propane, gasoline, electric forklifts on site for the purpose of transport, inventory, shipping, receiving. - Inventory and machine part management: Keeping record of inventory movement across site and electronically logging past order/return history of ordered machine parts. - Shipping/Receiving: Completing daily shipping papers for shipping/receiving as well as inventory integration or parts into warehouse system and proper storage of items. - Machine part delivery around mine site: Delivering ordered parts to all areas of mine site, and completing proper inventory/delivery paperwork. - Warehouse long term planning: Project aimed at helping develop a more efficient workspace, and create more inventory space. - exposure to geology department (core shack, mine tours, etc.)-Student summer job

My main role as a part of the Public Works Crew with the City was to work on and maintain landscaping, as well as doing general labour for the city. My job included but was not limited to: - Landscape duties: maintaining a clean and organized image of the cities' assemblages. including maintaining irrigation, weeding, mowing and weed-wacking, and tree planting. - Street Cleanup : helping control dust levels and keeping debris off the street- General Labour: fire hydrant upkeep, maintenance and painting, along with yard cleanup, manual labour- Yard waste disposal: Collection and emptying of yard waste bags from residents and properly disposing of them at the landfill. - Side-walk Maintenance: Correcting sidewalk uplift to eliminate pedestrian hazards by grinding down uplifted edges with a sidewalk grinder. - Over-growth Control: Removing unaesthetic and potentially hazardous overgrowth from water treatment and sewage areas, along with along roads and residential boundaries. - Event preparation: Armstrong's 100 year celebration required special event decorations and safety barriers to be set up around town for the town event. -Student summer job.

The main focus of my employment at Endura was to handle the shipping and handling of products. - Collect products and prepare shipment along with dangerous goods identification associated with them (Class III dangerous goods)- Ensure shipment is secured in a safe manner for shipment- Prepare and apply dangerous goods tags - Prepare shipment order papers (including products contained, total weight, dangerous goods classification, etc)- loading shipments and safe securing of products on transport truck- Inspect and Accept or redirect incoming shipments to proper receiving area- Student summer job.
