Ken's career spans some 40 years in engineering and project management formally in the Telecommunications industry working with Plessey, Marconi and GEC and in more recent years the Defence Industry. Ken has a passion for the improvement of project management capability and in the role of Group Projects Director, Marconi, had a primary role in the integration of new businesses, world wide, into the Marconi organisation. Ken joined BAE Systems, Military Air Solutions, as the Head of Project Management Governance & Standards in June 2003 and took additional corporate responsibilities for improving capability within the Planning, Monitoring & Control environment across the organisation. Now Project Management Function Director for Military Air & Information and an active member of Corporate and UK/International Project Management Councils he continues to champion continuous improvement across all aspects of Project Management capability, development, process and policy.Ken is an MBA and Fellow of the Association for Project Management and Member of the Chartered Management Institute.

Project Management Functional Director– BAE Systems, Military Air & Information (MA&I) Prime accountabilities & successes:Project Management Authority (PMA) responsible for the oversight of projects and development of project management capability strategy to support the MA&I Integrated Business Plan (IBP).Lead the Military Air & Information Programme Management Office to deliver enhanced Project Management capability through both the development of internal resources and appropriate application of process and methodology. Development of innovative early career schemes to ensure future capability and appropriate skills to meet future strategic direction.Ensure compliance with the BAE Systems Operational Framework and Lifecycle Management Framework and use the Central Functions skills to help the successful delivery of MA&I major programmes. Represent MA&I on the BAE Systems Corporate Project Management Council (CPMC), Programmes & Support and UK Project Management Councils supporting pan BAE Systems project management strategy development and best practice transfer.
