I managed a team of business analysts with responsibility for ensuring the existing computer systems met the operational requirements for the pension business of Sun Life in Hong Kong. The major tasks included:• As a project manager, ensuring projects were completed according to budget and schedule. As a Business Analyst I also got involved in the requirements analysis and software testing. For projects involving third party software, I dealt directly with vendors to ensure they were work according to our requirements and schedule. • Provide production support to the various users of the pension systems in use at Sun Life.• I had a major role in the successful completion of a project for taking on the business of another pension administrator into the Sun Life business. This role included the analysis to determine changes required to the pension software and a data conversion exercise.• I was part of a small team tasked with re-engineering the software systems used in the Sun Life pension business to improve reliability, cost and efficiency. This involved researching, viewing, evaluating and recommending the solution for the way forward.

Located in the Asia region I worked on projects and consulting assignments in developing and implementing industry-specific software systems and business solutions. My major role was working on a large scale software implementation project for a local Life Insurance company in Bangkok.

I worked in a project management role for the CSC range of Insurance software in Asia. I managed large scale Life Insurance software implementations in Malaysia and Taiwan, and also two software implementation projects in the Philippines.

My major achievement was the successful installation of a pension software system for CMG Asia (now Sun Life) in Hong Kong. I worked onsite with the client in roles ranging from consultant to project manager covering the design, implementation, and services post implementation.

Based in Australia in the Superanuation industry, I worked in many successful assignments including:• Full responsibility for implementation of superannuation software for the National Australia Bank and critical participation in the software implementation project for Ok Tedi Mining in Papua New Guinea.• Account responsibilities for a group of clients including some of Australia’s largest companies such as Telstra and National Australia Bank..• Manage, develop and maintain a comprehensive software regression testing package for the Superannuation division.Note: during this period I started work with a company called Co-Cam Pty Ltd. It was acquired by PMSC Pty Limited in 1996, subsequently renamed to Mynd Corporation and then acquired by Computer Sciences Corporation in 2000.
