Define, propose, and implement the department's processes and technologies used for test automation, including creating frameworks for UI and API testing (Java, Selenium/WebDriver, Rest-Assured) and automation for mobile (Appium, ios-driver). Code improvements to the test automation framework, which is used by the entire (200+) QA department. Set up and manage continuous integration pipelines (Gitlab) for projects to enable round-the-clock test suites to run, including in production and staging environments. Train other QA staff members on automation tools and best practices, and perform code reviews. Work closely with development to look for ways to improve application test support as it relates to automation.

Lead (and sometimes the only!) QA engineer on Yahoo's experimentation platform, a suite of products that internal properties (like sports.yahoo.com) used to perform A|B and multivariate experiments, enabling analysis of web page changes on a subset of the user population. These experiments drove changes for the web site which in turn lead to better user experiences and increased ad revenue. Performed manual testing, performance testing, and developed automation for several components (UI, two middleware pieces, two databases). Managed test, staging, and production servers, did some release engineering and custom install work, hired and (dotted-line) managed contractors, and it was pretty cool to have our software installed on more than ten thousand Yahoo production servers.
