I provide strategic analysis, input to goals and objectives, development and implementation, focusing on business growth into new and emerging markets. I have performed additional roles of Capture Manager, Proposal Manager, Project Manager, and Senior Software Systems Engineer. I develop new business for the software development and services company by leveraging existing business contacts, as well as identifying new contacts and leads through professional networking, lead development, cold-calling and sheer tenacity. Some things I've been able to accomplish here include: I conceived of and led the proposal effort for a unique data self-awareness research & development effort that culminated in a number of prototypes being developed and a contract with an entity of the Federal Government. I secured positions on a number of US Air Force contracts, which provided funding opportunities for new business expansion into the Air Force’s intelligence and information operations market - this from a primarily Army-related company and me being a retired Army Soldier. I further developed exploitable relationships in the Information Assurance and Cyber Warfare elements of DISA, NSA, DHS, US House of Representatives, Army, Air Force and Navy Cyber Commands, EUCOM and US Cyber Command. My engineering and leadership prowess was recognized and led to my selection from among my local peers to attend the University of Texas Engineering Leadership Institute; and this from a guy with no formal engineering training and a B.A. degree.
  • Us Army
Special Information Operations Planner And Office Supervisor
    Us Army Jul 2001 - Jul 2005
I planned, coordinated, deployed and executed sensitive, technical information operations, with a focus on computer network operations (or "CNO") and electronic attack, in support of military operations, exercises and demonstrations facilitating integration with the capabilities of the sister services, other US government agencies and foreign partners. I was responsible for the leadership, combat operations, training, and development of 12 subordinates. I authored information papers used globally by the US government to understand the Army's highly sensitive, technical capabilities. I represented the Army's CNO efforts and interests directly to the National Security Agency and Central Intelligence Agency, as well as the regional commanders and national-level forums. My key achievements during this time: I helped secure the Army's preeminence in the evolving cyber warfare mission area by integrating their first sensitive capability into a regional theater commander's war plan. I was the sole Army CNO planner deployed early to Iraq on two separate occasions in order to introduce new capabilities to the combat efforts there. I participated in the development, production and delivery of two highly sensitive, technical CNO capabilities to the Army by providing intelligence analysis and user interface consultation to the developers. I saved the US government a lot of money by leading the effort to renovate an existing building for use as a secure facility, finishing the project under budget. I maintained accountability and protection of sensitive, high-value materiel without loss or compromise, while traveling approximately 80,000 miles annually around the globe to a variety of cultures. I improved the unit's capabilities and protection of its operations by training unit personnel on sensitive operational techniques, operational security, and force protection (how to be as safe as possible in unsafe situations).
  • Us Army
Assignment And Professional Development Manager (Human Resources Manager)
    Us Army Jan 1998 - Jul 2001
I worked my way up to be in charge of 11 other folks who worked together to manage the training and world-wide assignment, including the job placement (right skills - right place - right time) and transportation, of as many as 15,000 personnel whose collective purpose in life was to provide intelligence services to the US Army. In addition to running the show, I had personal tasks ranging from analyzing processes and making changes to streamline and improve efficiencies and accuracy, seeking qualified candidates and then recruiting for challenging skills like Instructor, Parachutist, Linguist and Counterintelligence (or"CI") Special Agent. During my time there, I grew the CI Agent program by 20% by active recruiting and by leveraging the established system in innovative ways. In the overall shop, I increased productivity and reduced man-hour requirements by introducing office automation to easily analyze trends and make prudent, effective recommendations. I even went so far as to improve customer outreach and awareness by designing, building and maintaining a professional 20-page web-site presence for the office. I also cut down on computer system down-time and freed up enterprise computer support staff by maintaining 37 office network computers as a self-taught, in-house "technician."It was during this time I was awarded the prestigious Knowlton Award from the Army's Military Intelligence Corps, as recognition for the contributions I had made to provide for the improvements to and the professional development for the Soldiers of the Military Intelligence Corps.
  • Us Army
    Counterintelligence Agent
    Us Army Jan 1990 - Jan 1998
I held many supervisory positions in Counterintelligence, Human Intelligence and Interrogation Operations, being directly responsible for as many as 30 personnel, providing trans-regional support to the U.S. Army in Europe and to an Army Airborne Corps responsible for world-wide military operations. As a direct and indirect supervisor, I evaluated job performance and provided career development advice. I implemented disciplinary actions as required and conducted initial reception training and recurring training. I was responsible for the maintenance and accountability of as much as $1,000,000 worth of special intelligence operations equipment and tactical survival equipment and vehicles. I managed, coordinated and conducted Federally-initiated investigations on matters of National Security, including subversion and espionage directed against the U.S. government. I also planned, coordinated, conducted and reported on sensitive facilities' vulnerability assessments ("Site Vulnerability Assessments"), applying aspects of physical security, information security, personnel security and operational security on highly sensitive facilities in the U.S and Europe. Performed and trained advanced surveillance techniques.Key Achievements included: Provided force protection for pro-democratic elements in Haiti by managing and conducting source operations and detainee interrogations during Operations Restore and Uphold Democracy. Streamlined administrative support and increased office efficiency by producing databases and automated tools used to track investigation productivity, reporting, training and responsibilities. Consulted for the Director of Security, Defense Language Institute, Presidio of Monterey, CA, on matters of installation physical, personnel, operations and information security, as well as security education and oversight. Was selected for and received training from the Defense Language Institute in Russian Language.
  • Us Army
    Infantryman
    Us Army 1985 - 1988
    Ft Benning, Ga
My initial enlistment into the US Army was into the COHORT unit of the 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light). I was among the first Combat Arms Soldiers assigned to the newly re-activated division, kicking off their legacy of the most storied Army division in modern history. As Light Infantry Soldiers working to prove out the Light Infantry concept for the Army, we were highly trained in all aspects of fighting and surviving in austere conditions. We spent an inordinate amount of time in field training environments, often operating for three or four days with no sleep, no shelter and minimal food, all while remaining ferociously efficient at our tactical fighting skills. I learned and conducted Air Assault operations, and learned how to fall out of airplanes during this time (most of my airborne operations came later as an Intelligence Soldier). I climbed my way through the positions, ultimately achieving the position of Squad Leader, responsible for the leadership of eight other Soldiers.
