1978 I designed, for the California State University system, through Humboldt State University, a BS degree, under Special Majors, in Maricultural Science. My emphasis was in raising marine invertebrates as a food source. In 1982 I was asked to support high school science teachers with an interest in connecting academics with the real world application of the sciences; this resulted in my obtaining a teaching credential and dedicating my career to education. I am now retired, after 38 years with teaching experience at the primary, secondary, and community college levels, beginning in 1983, as a science educator and the Head Coach ( All levels men's & Women's) for: the Swim & Dive, Water Polo, Alpine Ski teams. and women's soccer at Nevada Union High School, Nevada Joint Union High School District, Grass Valley, CA. During my time in education I also worked, for over a decade, in both developing and training the CFASST and BTSA programs through Placer County Office of Education and Nevada County Office of Education, as well as with the California Department of Education helping to design programs and direction with the development of Career Tech Education programs in the Health and Medical Sector. I also developed an Educational Peer Mentoring program and subsequently trained school districts in its implementation. Since 2020 I have been working as a Helmsbriscoe Assistant to Janet Caine, who has 40 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
