This pivotal leadership role oversaw the strategic and operational requirements of the Minister for Environment and Water, including leading the development and implementation of public policy initiatives, legislative reform, communications strategies and stakeholder engagement. Working intensively with the Minister, Cabinet members, Members of Parliament and public sector executives, we achieved a significant step-change in the uplift of South Australia’s environment and water portfolio. Amongst the daily operational management of a Minister’s priorities and obligations, we delivered legislative reform, record amounts of capital investment in parks, South Australia’s largest expansion of the national parks estate, opened reservoirs for public recreational access, creation of innovative nature-based tourism partnerships and experiences, circular economy development programs, emergency and long-term bushfire support responses and practical environmental improvement programs.

Responsible for providing leadership in the management of all administrative, financial, human resource and office operational functions for the Minister’s Office.

Through leadership in strategic and operational areas of the institution, this role focused on maintaining key stakeholder relationships and the management of strategic project design and delevery. This role also included management responsibilities of financial and governance matters of the Museum Board and the SA Museum Foundation Incorporated.
