Before entering Parliament I was a Councillor at the Shire of Hastings 6 yrs (now Mornington Peninsula Shire)20 years Self employed Plumbing Contractor, Executive Officer Master Plumbers Association of Victoria, Federal Secretary, Federated Master Plumbers of Australia,Founding Director then Chairman the Independent News Group.My involvement with The Peoples Republic of China commenced in 1995 as a Delegate to Jiangsu Province (Victoria's Sister State) and have since led many high level Political and Business Delegations to China. I have met with Delegations led by Governors, Vice Governors,Peoples Congress Chairmen both National and Provincial, Party Secretary's and other leading Political and Business Leaders from various parts of China developing ongoing relationships for Victoria and Australia at both a Political and Business level.I was honoured to be awarded Honorary Citizenship with both Shandong and Jiangsu Provinces.I have recently retired as President of the Australia China Business Council (Vic) and a National Board Member, but remain as a member of the Executive Committee in Victoria Chairman of Australia and New Zealand Health Products Limited (ANZHPL} I was Honoured to be awarded an AM. in the Queens Birthday Honours List in 2018 "For significant service to the people and the Parliament of Victoria , to Australia- China relations and to the Community"
