Further the mission of Franciscan Outreach by directing full-time volunteer program to best serve those who are homeless in Chicago. Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains all new volunteers. Responsible for all aspects of the service program. Collaborates with service sites creating unique positions, site visits, and evaluations. Connect daily and work directly with guests at our soup kitchen and shelter. Creates and implements four retreats a year and an annual in-depth training orientation Organizes monthly curriculum readings and discussion to explore social justice issues. Plans weekly reflections and community nights to assist volunteers in building community and processing their service experiences. Coordinates donation drives with the community and various Franciscan Outreach locations. Creates and maintains social media outreach for prospective, current and alumni volunteers including facebook, blog, website, and constant contact/mailchimp emails.

Further the mission of Lewis University Ministry team through programming assistance. Initiated and coordinated the University’s first Post-Graduate Service Fair; now annual event. Worked to recruit and coordinate dozens of volunteer organizations to connect with students. Assisted with Outreach and Social Justice programs including STAND and Catalyst. Coordinated and attended community service opportunities with local nonprofits. Supported students in their faith journey, challenges and joys.

Coordinated, implemented, and evaluated a comprehensive youth ministry program for the parish. Established a weekly peace and justice small group, connecting faith with real world issues. Started a Peer Ministry Team to provide additional leadership and input into the youth ministry program. Planned and implemented retreats, Bible studies, and weekly youth group gatherings. Coordinated bi-weekly Family Masses. Provided recruitment and training of volunteers. Created new service and mission trip opportunities; increasing attendance. Accompanied parishoners on their faith journeys; comforted and counseled students and parish after the tragic loss of one of our students.

Lived in intentional, simple, service-based community with other volunteers and De La Salle Christian Brothers.Saint James Catholic Church -Youth Minister and Volunteer CoordinatorEstablished and coordinated various programs that served the community at a small urban church with first generational families representing twenty-four countries. Organized Parish-wide Christian Formation Sundays, with age-appropriate activities. Strengthened various parish ministries through recruiting, interviewing and training volunteers. Responsible for coordinating over 100 volunteers within the parish and community. Established youth ministry programs for students focused on faith, service and community involvement; increased youth participation. Planned and coordinated retreats, service opportunities, weekly youth group sessions and Confirmation program.Holy Family Catholic Worker House – Staff and Community MemberWorked with community members to provide basic care and service to the inner city community by living out Gospel and Catholic Worker values. Provided evening meal six nights a week for 150 – 200 guests and overnight hospitality to families that were homeless. Organized and recruited volunteers for house shifts, food donations and hospitality. Presented to church and school groups on topics of poverty, Catholic Social Teaching, social and economic justice.
