I am still learning my new role at CableLabs and hope to update this section accordingly! In private practice, I focused on all aspects of intellectual property from counseling clients on general intellectual property protection to drafting utility and design patent applications, combatting counterfeit and knock-off products, drafting license agreements, and enforcing clients’ patents or trademarks in court.I have a background in aerospace engineering, but I have worked with clients across many different fields to develop and implement intellectual property strategies tailored to their businesses. My patent prosecution work includes preparing and prosecuting domestic and international patent applications, including design patents. I also prepared patent validity and invalidity, patent infringement and non-infringement, and freedom to operate opinions, as well as intellectual property license agreements. Additionally, I litigated patent and trademark cases in federal court.I received both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Also, I completed a work-study abroad opportunity in Regensburg, Germany from 2004 to 2005. I was the first University of Colorado student to complete an International Engineering Certificate, and I helped develop the international engineering program, which now sends numerous engineering students abroad each year.
