Developed and directed strategic and tactical plans for commercial software products, internal development tools, and integration build and staging tools. Defined, designed, and advocated strategies for software processes, software tools, and all third-party libraries.Created and promoted vision for software products leading to industry awarded tools such as Libero IDE, SmartDesign, Designer, and MultiView Navigator. See http://actel.com/products/software/libero. Envisioned and led the development of the Core Web Repository System. Provided a web application and service for core publishing and delivery written in Ruby on Rails and deployed using the EC2, S3 and CloudFront services. The desktop software was developed in C++ utilizing STL, Boost, OpenSSL, Curl, Qt. A SOAP API conforming to the IP-XACT standard was also developed to integrate configurators and generators into the desktop tool flows. This system became instrumental in the SmartFusion Design Flow, the premier and award-winning product today at Actel.Implemented and re-factored dozens of other programs and web applications and services using C++, Java, Ruby on Rails, REST, SOAP and XML. Deployed numerous web applications and services using EC2, S3, and CloudFront. Decreased average build times by 10-20x, significantly increased number of change-sets processed from 5-10 a day to more than 30 a day using continuous-integration, and eliminated broken builds on release branches all leading to significant productivity gains.Authored and presented “Demystifying C++ Exceptions - 10 Tips to Effectively Design Exception Safe Code” at BoostCON 2010.
