• Designed 350-950 horsepower machinery for oil field hoists, drilling and work-over rigs. Machinery included frames, gears, chains, shafts, brakes, pneumatic and hydraulic controls.• Created computerized bill of materials tracking system which documented the assembly process from sales initiation to field setup and allowed for specialization of customer orders. • Introduced fiber optic inspections of internal parts for manufacturing and service. Fiber optic inspections had not been used in the oil industry prior to this.

• Calculated stress in gears, shafts, bearings, and gear cases for the Osprey tilt rotor aircraft transmission which is now used in combat by the US Military.• Designed gears, bearings, and shafts for light and medium helicopter transmissions.• Compiled stress/life expectancy reports and supervised required testing. These reports successfully met the requirements of defense contracts. • Collaborated on NASA research project that extended the combat flight time of a damaged helicopter transmission.
