Hello my name is Kennedy Nelson. I am currently a student-athlete and the Univ. of North Dakota playing volleyball. Since I was 5, I always knew that I wanted to be a college athlete. Through years and years of trying every sport imaginable, I finally found two that I loved. Volleyball and Hockey. My brother always played hockey so I was constantly in a rink whenever I wasn't in the gym passing balls. I came to a point in my life where I had to pick between the two. After I chose volleyball I couldn't be more in my element. Now, not only am I playing volleyball as a Fighting Hawk, I am also at one of the top hockey schools in the nation! Crazy how life works out.Besides sports, I have always dreamt of either being in the medical field or becoming a lawyer. Like every other kid, I wanted to be a vet at first. Then my first dog died and I knew I couldn't deal with that everyday as my job. So then, per request of my mom, I wanted to become a lawyer. I was always so good at debates in school and "arguing with my mother" like my family says so I thought I would give it a shot. Eventually I fell out of love with being a lawyer and feel in love with wanting to become a nurse. I always loved adrenaline rushes and working under pressure, so I knew that being a Trauma/ER nurse would be my forever home. As I am about to start my first year of nursing school, hopefully my love for the job grows even more!
