Happy! I recently finished my fifth year as a Lecturer in the Jones College of Business at Middle Tennessee State University which enables me to combine my passionate belief in the importance of education and my 25+ years of experience in business. This coming year constitutes a change for me as I will now be serving MTSU as a fulltime trainer for the Dale Carnegie Course. The principles set forth in this course set our participants up for greater success in all of their relationships, both inside and outside of their work environment. These skills truly set MTSU graduates apart from others who are entering the workforce.These students and my colleagues continue to impress me and motivate me on a daily basis. One of the wonderful aspects of what I do is knowing people want to get better, they want to make improvements in their lives. And they want to do it NOW. Being a part of that process is so full of meaning that it makes every day full of happiness. As part of my work at MTSU, I also promote the services and programs available through the university – specifically the Small Business Development Center hosted through MTSU and the work performed through the Pam Wright Chair of Entrepreneurship administered by Dr. Joshua Aaron.Along with my experience with large companies, my fun weekend job is as the co-manager of a small business, Pickers Creek Winery in Lewisburg, Tennessee – a business which continues to thrive in a growing and dynamic marketplace while allowing me the opportunity to meet some wonderful, amazing people from all over the world.
