Provide practical and personal care services for immobile stroke victim • Transport in and out of bed, wheelchair, lift, recliner, vehicles, tub/shower, etc.• Transport to doctor appointments, church, store, as patient is able• Change bandages, linens, bed pads, chucks, adult diapers, breathing aides, clothing, etc.• Prepare dentures, eye glasses, etc.• Maintain fingernails and toenails, fix hair, apply lotions, powders etc.• Maintain sanitary conditions in the home environment.• Assist with bathing, blood draws, catheterization, etc.• Keep patient from developing bedsores, UTI’s, etc.• Promote mental and physical activity. • Launder and put away patient’s clothing, rags, towels, ace bandages, etc.• Prepare and serve meals, assist with eating, clean dishes, kitchen and eating area • Monitor, record, report BP, PT/INR, BG, heart rate, pulse, temp,etc• Call in, pick up, sort, record, schedule, and administer prescription drugs• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular shots• Assist patient with communicating on phone, video chat, etc. • Assist and co-operate with home-health care and hospice workers• Actively talk with and listen to patient, allowing for patient’s personal choices• Schedule and request home visits from government and private health care workers• Report to patient’s primary care physician any accident or incident which may occur• Always maintain patient’s dignity
