About Kenn Hamm

As a Professional Services Manager there are a few things I take pride in - leading a highly effective team and that team delivering on time and on budget ─ and I have been very successful at this. The secret? Keeping my eye on the ball, and knowing that while its always my job to make things easier for the people I work for and work with, I also always need to support my team in every way that I can. Another key: Knowing how to motivate a cross-functional team and keep them enthused about the job by being consistently enthusiastic myself. This isn’t something you’d think would show up as a skill for someone who has worked primarily as a telecommuter over his career, but I’ve always been able to build that buy-in and enthusiasm with my teams. My work style is characterized by very close attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, streamlining processes, and an ability to keep a tactical eye on the end goal. And perhaps most of all, a strong work ethic. I am proud to say that I completed two simultaneous graduate degrees, worked full-time, and had two kids in school ─ all at the same time. It may sound a bit old-fashioned, but I learned a lot of this from my Grandpa, who at 92 is still going strong; he has a strong work ethic, is an incredible craftsman, a wise investor and has always emphasized treating people right. I strive to be like him. I’ve been known to rise early in the morning for east coast calls, and work late into the night to help ensure our clientele are well served, and spend my free time dabbling in music and investing in the stock market.I’m looking forward to my next opportunity to take on an interesting and meaningful product or project, and welcome networking with my colleagues and discussing new job opportunities.

Principal Product Owner / Product Manager – Value Based Care Suite – Rqns

Eden Prairie , Mn, Us

Optum is a division of UnitedHealth Group, leading technology innovation in healthcare. After working on Health Information Exchanges, I was promoted into Program Management for Optum's solutions for both Medicare and commercial Bundled Payments. These were integrated into the overall Value Based Care Suite and I was promoted to Product Owner / Product Manager for all three programs. This included spearheading the development of the Value Based Care Suite application from start-up to leading implementation projects contract values of $10+ Million. I directed a global, matrixed team of up to 3-5 business analysts and 30-50 software developers, always with the goal of on-time delivery of application components. To reach those goals, I developed the strategic vision and product roadmaps by developing product vision with senior leadership and customers; prioritized development with engineers, QA, implementation, operations, and support teams; and executed the day-to-day processes of translating product roadmaps into launched products. My accomplishments in this position include: ►I was entrusted with responsibility for all three programs due to my strategic and tactical skills, reliability and willingness to go far beyond my job requirements to ensure timely implementation of product/program. ►Orchestrated process improvement strategies with engineering leadership by leveraging existing products and components, and streamlining communication and tracking for accountability, which increased efficiency by 25%.►Developed a deep healthcare subject matter expertise focused on pay for performance methodologies, including risk adjustment and gain sharing, provider attribution rendering methodologies, eligibility roster management, and performance metrics and analytics. ►Leveraged SAFe, Agile, Agile-waterfall hybrid, and Kanban-based methodologies as appropriate to the teams and status of the product or program with its software development life cycle.

Project Manager - Hie Implementation

Eden Prairie , Mn, Us

I began at Optum in a Project Management role, tasked with leading a $10 Million infrastructure implementation project to develop a community-based HIE to securely share medical records between provider organizations across Nevada. Ultimately, I led the deployment of six state and regional HIE pilot programs in support of development of a national health information exchange to securely share medical records nationwide.I was also at the helm in delivery of an HIE pilot for the Veteran’s Administration. This pilot was a proof of concept that directly resulted in seven additional regional agencies choosing to partner with Optum for their health information exchange programs. And as always, I looked for a way to improve processes, and developed a system to streamline the onboarding of new employees that was tailored to each department’s needs. This ensured that onboarding staff had the equipment, access, and supplies they needed to ramp up quickly, increasing their speed to productivity.
