About Kenny Lew

Once upon a time, I was deeply involved in the innovation and entrepreneurship scene in Singapore and Asia, working alongside to support the best, bravest and brightest entrepreneurs and innovators. In recent years, I became a career coach in order to pursue another passion of mine - to equip brilliant mid-career professionals with the relevant skills, mindset and network to make meaningful career transitions in an increasingly disruptive world. My unique approach to career coaching arose out of my hybrid background which blends 20+ years of experience and insights in startups, education, training and coaching, plus a lifelong love of great ideas and inspiration. I also believe in giving back, so I've created 3 communities for PMETs.     I played a key role in making this inaugural show which was one of the most successful events in Singapore in 2012.My responsibilities included event planning and execution, driving sales and sponsorships, inviting notable speakers like Jeff Clavier, one of the top 20 angel investors in Silicon Valley. Other speakers include top VCs and entrepreneurs from the region like Golden Gate Ventures, Neoteny Labs, etc.The event was also covered by top media firms like CNBC and the Singapore edition was well publicized across major media outlets worldwide through the IDG network.I also conducted 12 auditions to select promising startups and established strategic partnerships with key players in the startup communities across Asia to promote the show. In total, the 2-day show launched 71 tech companies from 15 nations worldwide, mostly from Asia. The event saw over 850 attendees.DEMO is a well-known brand owned by IDG and they collaborated with Venture Beat for all the shows until 2013.

The commercialization of NUS research led to successful licensing or spin-offs in the ICT and Engineering space. My portfolio changed in 2007 where I was involved in industry liaison work. I also had the privilege to work with a small but super talented team that organized the annual Technology Commercialization Forum (TCF) from 2008 to 2010. Key industry players from MNCs, IP firms, investors and entrepreneurs converged in this most established platform for technology transfer and licensing in Asia. My scope includes event planning and execution, driving sponsorship and ticket sales and coordinating speakers, exhibitors and presenters. We also collaborated with AUTM for this show. Representatives from successful tech transfer offices from Stanford University and MIT have attended this event that average over 300+ participants yearly since it started in 2007. TCF later evolved into InnovFest Unbound which regularly drew over 5,000 attendees.
