Web enablment of IBM's Mail and applications globally.

Worldwide IBM internal Lotus Notes Collaboration Client Deployment, Development, Tracking and SupportProvided the technical leadership over a continuously growing scope of responsibility.· Scope of responsibility grew from an initial focus on calendaring to also include the IBM Mail Template, IBM custom document expiration code, automated system for end user email alias updates, custom tools development, development of requirements for client and template installation packaging, help desk training and overall deployment tracking.· Successfully deployed Lotus Notes 5, 6, 7 and 8 and related software to over 350,000 end users including development and support of multiple associated client side and server side tools.· Regular triage of top issues to determine the root cause, assess the scope of the impact to the business and the urgency to implement immediate and appropriate corrective action.· Became the technical resource turned to for issues where all standard levels of support were exhausted.

The technical resource on a team that re-engineered how IBM handles maintenance special bids. · Identified the legacy systems utilized in the current process and provided clear business process flow documentation of the existing and re-engineered processes. · Utilized data analysis skills to join data from Lotus Notes and legacy databases maintained by different organizations to provide new insight into the size and character of IBM’s maintenance special bid business. · Identified an existing Lotus Notes workflow application as the tool of choice for migrating maintenance bid tracking from legacy systems.· Worked as the requirements focal between the business and programming organizations to facilitate migration to the new application.· Developed business reports and reporting methodology.· Led the development of an informational web site that integrated both HTTP and Notes Domino web servers.

Support and development of a AIX Backup and Recovery application that provided full local or remote backup and recovery. · Architected and implemented a networked lab with RS/6000 hardware to provide a platform for test and development. Developed skills in UNIX, the Korn Shell and RS/6000 hardware.

Development of a multiplatform distributed client server based asset management application. · Implemented and supported software integration test lab where the various standalone applications were connected and debugged.· Led the effort to evaluate and select an OO design tool.· Developed experience in the following operating systems: Windows 3.1, 95, NT Workstation, NT Server, OS/2 and OS/2 Warp Server, as well as experience with the following applications: DB/2, Sybase, Watcom SQL Server, Lotus Domino, Notes SQL, HTTP Web Server, Crystal Reports, DP Umbrella, S-Designer, Rational Rose and others.

Network Management Automation DevelopmentWorked with a team that brought to market an automated network alert filtering and notification service. · Architected and implemented a campus LAN for the local organization that included a bridged and routed multiproto-col network that utilized both Token Ring and Ethernet at the physical layer and interconnected multiple buildings with fiber optic connections.· Connected this LAN to the corporate WAN and set up and maintained the domain name servers. · Developed skills in UNIX, Korn Shell programming, NV/6000, SNMP network management and utilizing a sniffer to debug network problems.

Network Installation Service DevelopmentDeveloped the ability for IBM to deliver nationwide network installation services, which utilized EIA/TIA 568 standard UPT network cabling from AT&T Microelectronics. · Developed a detailed understanding of both IBM's and AT&T's network hardware offerings and facilitated testing of AT&T UTP and fiber optic cabling with IBM’s networking hardware.· Facilitated communication and cooperation between the development, delivery and sales organizations of two large corporations.

Carried out failure analysis, hardware and microcode design reviews.· 370 Channel attach 9 track tape subsystem; AS/400 SCSI attach 9 track tape subsystem; Intel I860/Microchannel Busmaster; 16 and 32 bit Microchannel memory and multifunction adapters; ISA Bus 5250 terminal emulation adapter; PS/2 SCSI attach high capacity tape backup system. Project ManagementProject management responsibilities for a SCSI attach tape subsystem, a 8515 Touchscreen and an ISDN / Token Ring connection. · Experienced in the development of product schedules and cost estimates; ability to do thorough problem tracking from identification to resolution and implementation.· Experience in interface to all levels of vendor organizations as well as other IBM development and assurance organiza-tions.

Worldwide field support of 370 mainframe and AS/400 attached 9 track tape drive. · Root cause analysis of failures in a complex electromechanical subsystem in varying hardware and software environ-ments.· Worked with the vendor to define and implement required fixes. · Experience in handling and resolving critical customer problems, including on-site visits; working with on-line infor-mation systems for problem tracking and fix information; familiarity with the structure and function of the IBM Ser-vice support hierarchy.

Evaluation and test of: a 3270 emulation adapter; high capacity disk drive; tape backup system; a memory adapter with piggybacked I/O. · Experience in test program development with Intel assembler and BASIC in a Novell LAN environment as well as field support for PC related products.

Logic design of Instruction Cache and TLB for RISC processor. Logic design of control chip for pipelined 370 in-struction fetch, decode and execution sequencing unit. · Experienced with use of logic entry, simulation, high level design language and logic synthesis tools. Excellent skills in hardware bring-up, debug and fix definition.
