As Vice President of Business Risk Management and Financial Governance at Virgin Galactic, I am focused on addressing the business risks and regulatory requirements that build trust with regulators, customers and shareholders and contribute to our mission of becoming the world’s first private Spaceline.A public company (NYSE: SPCE), Virgin Galactic is dedicated to becoming a world leader in suborbital commercial space tourism with a longer term vision to develop orbital flights for space tourism and other commercial applications.As an experienced technology risk partner and CPA at PwC, I examined business models and processes across start-ups, private businesses and SEC registered public companies. These companies fed my natural curiosity to understand their challenges as they become publicly traded, and how regulations, technology and internal controls are balanced to not only address regulatory requirements, but also create opportunities to transform and use technology to be more efficient and effective. My value within an organization is in building the environment that enables businesses to thrive in creative ways in a controlled manner. I am known for my infectious enthusiasm and developing environments that foster creativity and alignment across stakeholders and teams. I believe that a positive and collaborative environment is critical in developing shared successes and achieving mission objectives, even in high pressure or tight timeline situations.I have a strong belief that focusing on connections with family and the community is critical. I serve as Treasurer on a non-profit board which supports youth in Los Angeles. On weekends, you can find me living a balanced life surfing, playing beach volleyball with my wife and biking with our two daughters to our favorite restaurants near the beach. These connections help me stay grounded while tackling challenging and rewarding career goals.
