Tapatap.com was a photo contest website. I was one of three cofounders, acting as the Chief Archtect and lead developer for the technical team. We received $3.5M in venture funding, led by Gabriel Venture Partners. Our servers were revolutionary for their support for all forms of clients from a single service: web, mobile web (WML), and AJAX API's for smartphones and RIAs. The server design was based upon Spring, Hibernate, Apache, and MySQL. The client devices included custom-built phone apps for J2ME, BREW, and iOS, as well as Facebook apps.

Our products were network-enabled mobile games, where players competed to win prizes based upon their skill. After acquisition I led a team of engineers who grew the server from supporting a couple of games to dozens, and at the same time seamlessly scaled up from a few hundred users to millions.

Additional responsibilities included creating a version to be used by the U.S. Postal Service in sensing pathogens moving through the mail. (This was *after* the anthrax incident, obviously.)
