Accepted an 18 month assignment as a technical authority to assist in the analysis, development and implementation of a national initiative centered on the creation of a Domestic Safety Management System. Responsibilities included:• project management and coordination of team resources• conducted ISM audits on participating companies in coordination with classification societies • consulted with stakeholders in the development of company safety management systems • development of Risk Assessment Framework and other program tools

Joined the company as 1st Officer serving aboard various vessels. Second contract promoted as Captain in command of the company flagship, the S/V "Legacy", a 1740 GRT specialty cruise ship.Responsibilities included:• complete management of the vessel and its assets including fiscal responsibility• senior navigation officer• supervising ship maintenance and repair• oversight of company’s ISM policies and procedures• ensuring the proper occupational health and safety of the crew• passenger relations and senior safety officer
