Kent is Executive Director of the Liz Claiborne and Art Ortenberg Foundation in New York City, a global conservation grant maker dedicated to the survival of wildlife, wildlands and the human communities on which they depend. The Foundation supports wildlife and community-based conservation initiatives in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the US-Canadian Rocky Mountains region.Prior to joining LCAOF, Kent worked for 34 years with The Nature Conservancy. He led three of TNC's most successful state and country programs -- in Maine, Australia and Canada -- and helped launch the organization's global program focused on work with indigenous peoples, among other positions. Kent is one of just nine TNC leaders featured in the book "Nature's Keepers", a profile of the non-profit’s first half century of growth.Kent is on the board of a private natural resource company in Ohio and served for 16 years as a board member of the Elmina B. Sewall Foundation in Maine. He is a graduate of Colby College (BA, Government) and Yale School of the Environment (Master of Forest Science).
