The Center for Israel Education (CIE) was founded in 2008 as an independent, non-profit and tax exempt entity. CIE subscribes to the philosophy that the evolution and sustenance of Israel is an integral part of Jewish and Middle Eastern history. Israel is the story of Jews taking control over their own destiny and, over time, seeking, making and keeping a state of their own. CIE collects, informs, writes and disseminates material about modern Israel. We construct curricula, assemble documents, offer materials for sale, and conduct teacher and student workshops. We have a curriculum corner dedicated to those who teach about modern Israel. Our target audiences include pre-collegiate, college, university, and adult learners. We place a special emphasis on helping students, young adults, pre-collegiate educators, lay leaders and clergy enrich their knowledge of Israel and the Middle East. We have conducted more than two dozen teacher workshops, allowing us to connect with more than 2300 teachers and rabbis, touching an estimated 350,000 students. We write analyses of contemporary events and delve into historical controversies. All of our work is based on documentary evidence provided by reputable educators and scholars. Our robust website is source driven and contains large collections of documents, many with contextual introductions not available elsewhere. The sources are collected from archives, memoirs, special collections, published volumes, the news media and historical compilations. We provide valuable compilations for the media, for teaching Israel and for generally learning about modern Israel. CIE work is sustained by private donations and foundation grants. We encourage your engagement with the CIE, its material and its work. For philosophy behind CIE, please view:
