After working in the retail pharmacy industry for over 15 years, I decided to go back to school and make a career change. What drew me into working at a pharmacy was the notion of being able to help people. The joy of helping people has carried forward to my interest in the Human Resource field. For the few years that I managed the schedules for technicians and interns, I grew to appreciate the connections I made with my coworkers. That's when I knew I wanted to work in the human Resources field. Working at the pharmacy helped me gain some important skills that will help me in the future such as effective communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, data entry, clerical skills, customer service, inventory management, organizational skills, and prioritizing. I have also learned how to work well in teams and encourage others to reach their full career potential. As I move into my new career path I have set some personal career goals that I feel are achievable. I hope to obtain a job in the human resources industry by the end of next year.
