We are also working with others to improve the energy performance standards of new and existing housing – homes that leak heat in winter or can’t cool down in summer are more expensive, and adversely impact people’s health and wellbeing. Our Grants team is working closely with advocates and researchers to enable a strong consumer voice in energy market decisions, as well as providing more proactive support to help grant applicants develop strategies, tactics and a constituency for change. Power Shift aims to help business and government deliver programs that encourage households to use energy more efficiently. Building on the behavioural insights gleaned from the 20 trials funded through the Commonwealth's A$54m Low Income Energy Efficiency Program, Power Shift will undertake complementary research, and build collaborative platforms to share its insights in Australia.

Energy Consumers Australia advocates for Australian energy consumers, particularly residential and small business consumers, on national energy market matters of material importance.

Managed the operations of the Consumer Advocacy Panel, a grants fund of over $3.2 million, until its closure on 29 January 2015. I advised the Panel on the context and potential consumer benefit of grant applications, communicated its decisions, and represented the Panel to stakeholders on a day to day basis.

CUAC is an independent consumer advocacy organisation, established to ensure the interests of Victorian electricity, gas and water consumers, particularly low-income, disadvantaged and rural consumers, are effectively represented in the policy and regulatory debate. I was the first Executive Officer of CUAC, building its staff, governance framework, policies and programs.

CCI was a consultancy, established to assist companies develop and implement corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs. We advised clients on best practice strategies and programs, to ensure they aligned with the company’s business and strategic objectives.

Worked in a number of DFAT areas, mainly on the Australia-Korea bilateral relationship, including a 4 year posting to the Australian Embassy in Seoul. The last position was a secondment to work on the 2000 World Economic Forum Asia-Pacific Economic Summit in Melbourne, just before the Sydney Olympic Games.
