Psychiatric decision unit - Lotus Assessment Suite / the Health Based place of safety

Hazel house is a 24 hour support housing care home. in this job I Key work 2 residents who I create and update support plans, have weekly support session with residents, keep up to date risk assessments. Liaising with GP's, Care coordinators and other professionals for the residents who I key work whilst accompanying residents to appointments. Running of activities such as art group, Karaoke, walking group. Creating a quarterly newsletter, updating a well ness wall and a food/ nutrition board for the residents. Administering medication following the 6 'Rs'. Attending Training days. Helping residents with room support, ensure the house is tidy, and residents are doing their laundry and washing selves. The residents all have a mental health diagnosis and so ensure they are well supported in every day living is the utmost importance.

In this position was responsible for signing staff in and making sure correct uniform was worn. I would make staff know what they are doing, and be around if any problems cropped up. I liaised with the kitchen, client and other managers whilst relaying any relevant information to all staff. I made sure staff had the appropriate amount of time for breaks, all set up was complete and the place was shut down in the correct manor. I ensured high cleanliness was maintained. I was friendly and easily approachable for staff.

In this job I was kept very much on my toes. The pub was an independent craft beer with a large dinig area. The pub had a self service beer wall, which required staff taking time out to teach all customers how to use it. As well as serving behind the bar, the pub had a very popular menu and ensured customers received quality table service. As the pub sold craft beer a large knowledge and understand of different types of beers was a must, not only that but being able to explain them to customers. In this position, I took bookings and created floor plans for busy match days where Chelsea played at home I would also be in charge of floor team to ensure a smooth flow of service and constant communication with the kitchen was maintained. I could change barrels and soda boxes and was taught to cash up. I ensure all opening and closing procedures were done to the highest standard, did regular stock checks and helped with ordering.

The headland is a 4* hotel. In this job I was constantly interfacing with customers. I had to be professional and deliver a quality service at all times. Being friendly and remembering the guests was a must. I learnt how to work behind a bar, use PDQ machines, make a range of all hot drinks, deal with challenging customers, how to deal with any issues or problems in a professional manor, think on my feet and to uphold a high standard of cleanliness.
