Currently working as a staff nurse in the children’s emergency department, delivering frontline urgent and emergency care to children ages 0-16. Proficient in venepuncture.I often flex into the adult department to support where census allows.

Paediatric staff nurse on a medical-surgical ward caring for children aged 0-17 with a variety of medical, mental health and surgical conditions. I primarily work as either floor coordinator, which involves bed management, liason with different areas to manage bed state, staffing management and carrying the cardiac arrest bleep; or in the high dependency unit of the ward, caring for patients across many different specialties who are acutely unwell and requiring a high level of intervention, such as CPAP, or in DKA.

I was the acute epilepsy specialist nurse, providing training packages and support for ward teams caring for children with epilepsy, and managing a patient group of around 500 children. I attended outpatient clinics, offered 1:1 buccal midazolam training for families and worked with the wider team of consultants and community nurses to provide joined up care for our patient group. This role appealed to my enthusiasm and interest in neurological conditions as a whole.

Paediatric staff nurse on a specialist neurology and metabolic ward, caring for children with complex needs, in metabolic crisis, or with acute neurological conditions requiring rehabilitation. This was a very fast-paced role where I saw a lot of variety, often involving acute seizure management, airway support for the seizing patient and required a high level of prioritisation from me across my nursing tasks. The ward worked as a strong multidisciplinary unit with healthcare assistants, dieticians, SLTs, physiotherapists and occupational therapists coming to work with patients daily.

I worked as a medic responder at a central London nightclub. My job involved triage and intervention planning for our patient group who attended our purpose-built medical area in the back of the club, either with an acute illness like a diabetic emergency or epileptic fit, or a spiked drink, or minor injuries from trips and falls or a fight.

I helped to provide support and assistance with activities of daily living for a group of residents. This could involve baths, showers, dressing, personal care, assisting with meals, mobilising around the home, or engaging with daily activities with residents. This was a varied and fast-paced role where I had to be quick on my feet and I learnt the foundational skills of caring for adults. I was privileged to participate in some end of life care at the home and provided a high standard of care to these patients as they died.

Working on a team with two other youth workers to provide lunchtime school clubs and Friday night social club for local children and teenagers.

Full-time youth and community worker based in the Royal Docks. Working for XLP within schools and on bus outreach projects. Working for a local church helping to coordinate and run children's work. As part of this work, travelled to Ghana and Romania.
