Incisive Technologies is an early-stage technology company, translating oral health care products to the global market. The lead product, based on IP from The University of Melbourne, is used to detect caries at an early stage, which allows accelerated benefits from various remineralisation products. The company has completed pre-clinical studies, FDA Pre-Sub meeting and manufacturing in 2020. Clinical studies will be undertaken in 2020/1 with an FDA submission for 510k approval targetting late 2021.

My responsibilities focused on growing diversified and enhanced sources of research income and identifying commercialization opportunities for The University of Melbourne globally. In my role as Business Development Director, I worked with diverse commercial and technology teams with the aim of supporting research groups to strengthen industry partnerships and drive the commercial translation of outstanding research. I was particularly keen to reach out to other groups within the Melbourne Precinct and Victoria generally to build internationally competitive opportunities together, especially in relation to the Medical Research Future Fund and other industry-led federal granting schemes.

NHMRC plays a critical role in Australian health and medical research by identifying and supporting high quality research and researchers to provide evidence-based advice on health issues. The inaugural Health Innovation Advisory Committee (HIAC) to NHMRC consists of highly experienced industry professionals and academics, charged with the responsibility of advising on current and emerging issues related to the development, commercialisation and uptake of innovative technologies and practices arising from health and medical research. Kerry was one of nine Members invited to join this inaugural Principal Committee in 2015.

Created Geotrack International Pty Ltd, launching the first commercial venture from The University of Melbourne. Geotrack’s unique services, based on fission track analysis, provided direct quantitative evidence for likelihood of the presence of oil and gas.Highlights: Co-founded Geotrack including negotiating retained ownership of the company for founders.  Launched novel technology with the aid of funding from industry and government Led the company to become the recognized global leader in the field Established partners and products globally, incl.
