Having frequented Sebastopol Social Club, affectionately known as The Legion, for the past twenty years or so, the opportunity arose for a Steward to replace the the incumbent Stewardess so I, along with quite a few applicants, applied for the post. Fortunately, I was the successful candidate and now have the pleasure of providing quality Real and Craft Ales in the tradition of our multiple award winning Club, the highlight of which was winning the UK National Club of the Year in 2004.

I Joined Tellabs as regional sales director for Next Generation Switching products. My remit was to set-up a sales team and infrastructure to compliment the existing sales force in Europe, Middle East and Africa. However, within six months of me joining, the company pulled the products and I was then given the task of running a sales & support team covering the UK, Ireland and Israel.

Responsible for running the BT global account with a team of sixteen salesmen spread across the UK, Europe and the US. The remit was to sell into the account, comprising of BT infrastructure, BT retail, BT joint ventures and Concert, the global venture with AT&T. FY 2000: Qtr 1 target of C$13.69m, achieved C$25.7m, 188% of target.

I had full P&L responsibility for the running of the regional business team that consisted of 33 staff across six countries. Due to this expansion, one of my objectives was to locate and open offices in Madrid, Milan and Rome. Major focus of sales included all incumbent and alternative service providers via our OEM partners Siemens, Alcatel, Lucent or other local distribution routes.FY 1999: target of £35m, achieved £39.4m, or 112% of target.FY 1998: target of £42.2m, achieved £33.7m, or 80% of target.

Responsibility for the running of the Southern European sales team that comprised of five salesmen; Major focus of sales was the incumbent service providers via our OEM partners Siemens, Alcatel, AT&T or our local distribution routes.FY 1997: target of £40m, achieved £51.8m, or 129% of target.

I was given the responsibility for running a sales team of seven across Western Europe (excl. France and Germany).FY 1996: initial target of £16.5m was raised to £19.8m, achieved £35.6m, or 178% of target.

Responsible for the running of small team of account managers addressing distribution routes in Southern Europe.FY 1995: initial target of £6m was raised to £10.9m, achieved £11.1m, or 102% of target.

Worked as an account manager in Western Europe. One of my main functions was the selection and signup of potential local distributor channels for Newbridge products. Unfortunately, I've no financial information available for this period.
