The smell of newsprint (when the MLS was a weekly-issued book!), the buzz of dot matrix printers, and bullpens buzzing with agents chasing their next sale formed the backdrop of my childhood. Young me could not have imagined it, but I came to realize and embrace that I was born to this industry. As a third-generation REALTOR I was a happy, successful, dedicated street-fighting agent for over 25 years. I spent a decade immersed in the REALTOR association and MLS world; I served on various Boards of Directors and executive committees: Phoenix, Arizona and the National Association of REALTORS, as well as the Arizona Regional Multiple Listing Service (ARMLS).  After serving as Chair of the Board at ARMLS, I migrated over to the business side and became its Director of MLS.On the very day that Opendoor launched in its flagship market, I requested an offer on my home just to meet the new kid on the block. I watched as more and more homeowners chose this new way to sell their homes outside of the traditional listing, showing, selling process. My acceptance grew when a good friend couldn't wait to tell me about this fresh new company she found that would help her avoid the stress of keeping her home indefinitely immaculate, the hassle of innumerable short-notice showings, the endless worry over timeline and contingency issues. The quick, clean and easy Opendoor transaction enabled her to move to her new home and gave her days and months to spend on her terms an ideal summer for her was possible. As more agents and Brokers told me about their transactions, and the ability for them to use Opendoor to save a contingency sale gone bad, I became convinced that this model does not merely work, but fills a niche for today's sellers, buyers and agents.
