NanoElectromagnetics, LLC (NanoEM) specializes in the development and production of composite materials for high power applications. NanoEM develops compact antennas and high voltage capacitors incorporating these composite materials.

While completing a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, I was supported through the sponsorship of Sandia National Laboratories as a fellow of the National Physical Science Consortium. My research focus was on the development of high dielectric constant materials for high power applications, bringing together expertise in pulsed power and materials science.

During the summer of 2007, I interned with Sandia National Laboratories and KTech Corp. My main task was to establish a radiological materials laboratory to perform gamma spectroscopy analysis of radioactive materials from the RITS-6 accelerator. This involved preparing all gamma detection equipment, liquid nitrogen systems, procedures and safety documents for a new radiological materials area, and designing new diagnostics for ion-initiated activation of accelerator cathodes. At the completion of the internship, the new laboratory was fully functional, measurements were made on radioactive cathode materials, and a new diagnostic system was in place for measuring ion energies.
