Working from little more than a 6-page victim statement submitted to the FBI in 1934, I uncovered vital, historic, long-buried details of the kidnapping in January 1932 of Indiana industrialist Howard Woolverton by Machine Gun Kelly. The crime prompted not one but two coverups, the second by the FBI and directed by J. Edgar Hoover himself. As revealed in my book -- Under Penalty of Death: The Untold Story of Machine Gun Kelly's First Kidnapping -- Woolverton's abduction played a central role in the passage of the Federal Kidnapping Law, which shut down the gangster-era snatch racket for good.Book scheduled for publication by Indiana University Press in May 2023

I wrote and/or edited much of the brand's major communications materials (website copy, advertising, collateral, sales & marketing blog posts, more than 100 press releases), launched SpeedTree's YouTube and Wikipedia pages, led the tradeshow program, developed relationships with key industry journalists, and successfully drove efforts to get SpeedTree recognized in all of our industry's major awards programs, resulting in, among other achievements, a 2015 Scientific and Technical Academy Award and a 2015 Engineering Emmy.
