As Head of IT, I planned and implemented an IT policy to meet current and future business objectives while ensuring that all company electronic data was secure and readily accessible. Further, I improved software utilisation using a simplification approach to reduce the quantity and cost of applications in the environment. This was achieved by defining the business critical applications, aligning these with the business and focusing on the usage of Microsoft solutions. Managed all infrastructure services including service design, services delivery, service support, asset intelligence, network services and network security. As the IT lead, I integrated the Visionstream business into Leighton Contractors standards including all IT staff, infrastructure and applications. I also outsourced all Leighton Contractors Data Centres to HP with a primary focus on changing the drive from insourced services to infrastructure as a service.

In this role, I developed an ICT strategy based on a 5-year business plan to define the process, infrastructure, migration to a cloud solution and staff development for the business. I coached IT Managers to enable them to implement the new ICT strategy.

Selected achievements include:• Being elected one of the TOP 100 leaders in the field of Information Technology in Brazil, by the Computerworld magazine in 2005 and 2006.• Outsourcing all facilities services achieving a cost reduction of 42% in 10-month period.• Deploying a community program that delivered 1% of BHPB Brazil profits to non-government organisations north of Brazil.

During my time at L’Oreal, I worked with product management, marketing, quality assurance and sales departments to align strategies, enhance the development process and improve IT response in the production chain. As the manager for IT services for all Brazil plants, I managed 9 direct reports. Selected achievements include:• Developing and implementing a plan to unify the IT departments for the two plants in Brazil achieving a 46% reduction in cost with no negative impact on performance. • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop a process to ensure that IT and plant service delivered at 99.95% efficiency. Within 3 months of implementation, the efficiency level increased from 97% to 99.3%.
