Hi! My name is Kevin and I have 6 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. If you are interested, feel free to take a look at my roadmap on where I am presently, where I plan to be, and how I'll get there. Thank you for reading!Present: Continue to develop within existing role.I will broaden my technical skills and knowledge through the experience gained from supporting projects during their planning and implementation from the process engineering side (FEED/detailed engineering). The exposure to many different types of projects and complexity, from both upstream and downstream project groups, will position me to learn technical best practices and strengthen my familiarity with the local and global energy value chain.Achieve a working level of the following technical skills:1. Condition and analyze forecasts;2. Simulate and model process systems: Hydraulics, on/off-sites, desulphurization, distillation, flare, and carbon-capture;3. Size and select equipment: Piping, valves/PSVs, vessels, exchangers, pumps, and compressors;4. Compile engineering documents, and have a working knowledge of codes, standards, and best practices:Process design basis, equipment lists, drawings/datasheets, API, DEPs, NACE, CSA, ASME etc.;5. Perform safety and risk analysis on process systems, and participate in process safety sessions: Overpressure protection, and HAZOPs & LOPAs;6. Apply process/operation optimization techniques: Operation troubleshooting, six-sigma, process simplification, design to capacity, waste minimization, predictive maintenance, and value engineering.Achieve a mastery of the following soft skills: 1. Power negotiating;2. Crucial conversations;3. Peak performance;4. Mindfulness.(Learning from the various works of Roger Dawson; Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, Ron McMillan, and Al Switzler; Friederike Fabritius, Hans W. Hagemann, Daniel Kahneman, James Clear; Wim Hof, Brene Brown, and Tamara Levitt respectively)Future:Seek opportunities outside of existing function. This is a mid-term goal (~3-6 years). By this time my expectation is that I will have a proficient skill level of process engineering and related aspects to technically supporting a project. I hope to be able to manage large projects as a project manager, or be able to work closely with an experienced project manager.

I helped produce deliverables for project teams which provided clarity and alignment on project expectations between stakeholders to establish a good foundation for project execution. Below details my main responsibilities and achievements in the Project Assurance Team:• Organized and facilitated Class of Facility Quality sessions for project groups to establish the degree of quality needed for the project and to determine project drivers; this resulted in a deliverable that aligned and clarified business objectives and stakeholder expectations between operations, the project team, and the management team and was used in decisions regarding the design basis and scope of work moving forward.• Organized and facilitated Constructability Review sessions for project groups to identify and examine opportunities to improve the design as it affects construction efficiency; this resulted in a deliverable that outlined action items that simplified the construction effort and aligned stakeholder on expectations - mainly between the project team, procurement, construction, and operations prior to construction.• Worked collaboratively with project teams to systematically select and strategically plan the implementation of VIPs that added value throughout the project lifecycle; this resulted in a deliverable integrated in the project execution plan that outlined clear accountabilities, timing, resources required, and justification on implementing VIPs.• Organized and facilitated Post-Project Reviews to identify project gaps and positive learnings; improving the future performance of projects via statistical analysis of business units' strengths/weaknesses in project planning and execution.
