Specialties: As a way of "giving back," I am enjoying teaching general aviation pilots to apply some of the analytical risk management concepts that the major airlines employ to their own flight operations. Having several medical professionals in the extended family, I also see the huge potential that this could be to the medical community. In both cases, potentially the world is a better place for allowing more good things to happen while minimizing the associated risk of a bad outcome.My early flying career started out with 5 seasons of agricultural crop spraying followed by a season flying air tankers, both of which I am grateful for the education in flying heavily loaded aircraft close to the ground! This was followed by opportunities to fly an air ambulance (The most personally rewarding flying I gave ever done.), air cargo, and flying the Dash-8 for a regional airline. Flying modern very sophisticated aircraft over many weather systems and time zones is a dream come true, but my real passion is flying aerobatics in vintage and antique aircraft.
