Barrette Homes site.Groundwork/GangerI worked on this site as holiday cover, agency temp.My day to day duties consisted of drainage gullies pot and manhole connections from newto old. At times this could be storm water which leads into a river from the surfacerunoff from the road and down pipe from houses.I was also doing a water fetcher which consisted of a large area of excavation of soil tobe dug out and removed and a water proof liner put in then covered with 20mm and 10mmshingle then topped with sand. A bloke out line and topsoil ramped to form a reed bed.I also put in the drainage form the new home running to the main outlet.This was a large building site with a number of different activities going on all at thesame time which could have caused me and my drivers harm at any time if heath and safetywas not in place at all time and check by me regular.

I am currently working on a new build site, supervising a group of workers, machinedrivers also sub contractures on a daily basis, working as part of the production teamdealing with ground works and sub structure, my day to day would start with dealing withmethod statements and risk assessments and make sure the health and safety act is beingfollowed, checking and dealing with any issues the workers have and resolving them,leasing with the managers and completing paper work on a daily basis and orderingmaterials as and when needed.My work at this site was mainly dealing with drainage new and old, gas and water suppliesto new homes also electric. Hard landscaping curbs and slab lying of block paving and newroad lay outs such as tarmac.All done, while keeping existing residents happy.

On a day to day basis I would deal with repairs and reinstatements of Kurbs, Slabs, Man holes covers, Drainage sign posts light columnsThis was a two to three man gang going round and maintaining the area covered by thecouncil this could be anything from a road accident to trucks damaging footways orcarriage ways.
