Accountable and responsible for the delivery of Capital and OPEX projects for ANTSO Nuclear Medicine and ANSTO Nuclear Health facilities portfolio of projects. I am accountable and responsible for the delivery of approximately 40 bespoke and challenging unique projects (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Mechatronics projects).I am directly responsible for a team of approximately 50 Project Managers, Engineers and Project Engineers. In addition to this I am accountable for the Project Delivery of projects delivered by the supply chain. At ANSTO I have implemented change and implemented Project Management methodologies / best available techniques that have been adopted across the division.

At UUK I was the Program Manager responsible for delivering the URENCO Capital and Revenue Nuclear Safety Case Program in accordance with Nuclear Site License 15 (the Program of Safety Case production is now complete which see the delivery of a significant ONR deliverable). I was responsible and accountable for overseeing a delivery team consisting of Project Managers, Engineers and Safety Case Assessors. I was accountable for cost forecasting, budget control, project planning and driving progress against project schedules.

I ensure all modifications to facilities are designed, operated, maintained and modified in accordance with the applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards (predominantly BS61508 Functional Safety).

As part of my role on SMF I was fully responsible for the project management and control of the SMF Site work packages and the associated Safety Case / requirements. This was a land remediation project recovering hazardous material. I was responsible for the SMF building footprint land remediation and site blinding – this was an NDA - Sellafield Limited PBI.Responsible for the design / procurement / installation and modification to the SL infrastructure to install a new compact electrical substation required for the construction of the SMF facility. • Innovating and implementing new procedures (CL:AIRE) across the Sellafield site.• Project Management of the project team from civil design delivery team to installation on the SMF site.• Project Management of the SMF site remediation tender documentation and chair of the tender review process.• SMF stakeholder management interfacing with the primary client and also with other key stakeholders.• Project Management of the SMF building plot land remediation and site investigation. Responsibilities between 2003-2008 at Sellafield Limited included.• Development, preparation and approval of various COSRs.• Delivery of supporting safety case documentation (OSM, PMP, HAZON DESKTOP, Engineering schedule).List of projects I was responsible for;Glove box refurbishment / replacement – Due to insufficient air changes across a series of glove box’s within a nuclear facility the chemicals used in the manufacturing process were corroding the glove box’s from the inside – out. I led the project to refurbish some of the glove boxes and replace the remainder (design and build) up to FEL stage 3.Gamma Gates Interlocks - I led a project to replacement deficient Gamma Gates Interlocks to In accordance with EG90. This involved an assessment & engineering substantiation & ALARP justification of not addressing shortfalls in the interim to allow operations to continue while we interlocks were designed and implemented.Fire proofing passive fire protection system – I led a detailed fire safety assessment of the Fuel Handling Plant. The assessment concentrated on areas of the facility where the fire loads adjacent to the external cladding and main structural overbuilding steelwork was considered to be a potential threat to the structural stability or in the case of the cladding sufficient to cause ignition. The recommendations were then considered by the Management safety committee and led the project to design and implement the recommendations.Under pond bracing in FHP - A COSR study highlighted the potential risk to the FHP pond water due to a seismic event. With a limited budget I implemented an ALARP exercise; this resulted in a project that mitigated the risk by designing bracing around the columns with carbon steel collars to increase the seismic performance of the pond structure.
