I am currently a senior studying accounting at the Kelley School of Business. I have always operated under a scheduled routine, and my skills include analysis, organization, planning, and time-management. I have illustrated these strengths in many ways, beginning in high school with my jobs as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and swim coach. As one of the veteran lifeguards at my local club, I was tasked with helping the owner and manager create schedules for all lifeguards. In addition, I assisted in organizing introductory swimming lessons for aspiring young swimmers to build their confidence and become comfortable with swimming in all areas of the pool. My first year of swim coaching, too, gave me the chance to work one-on-one with nearly 150 swimmers, and by the end of that summer, most of them had cut times in their races by about four to five seconds.Now at Kelley, I continue to discover opportunities that will positively impact others and best set me up for future success. Most of my Kelley curriculum consists of honors-level courses, and I am in the process of joining multiple student organizations. I have been working as a lifeguard for Indiana University's Student Recreational Sports Center (SRSC) for the past two years, and I am intrigued by what the Business World of Sports Club has to offer.I hope to earn a respected position in a public accounting firm, and it is my goal to study abroad during my time here at IU. In the future, I see myself engaging in an accounting career which will allow me to showcase my analytical skills and make a difference in my community and beyond.
