Responsible for training all IDT sales staff across the region (Beijing, Shenzhen, Taiwan, Korea and Japan) and introducing all video partners (systems integrators and ODMs) to IDT. Identified very substantial demand for 4K/UHD low latency encoding/transcoding from all major SIs and service providers across the region, especially with the latest roll-out of 5G services in North Asia.

Key customers include: Japan Navy (JMSDF), National Police Agency of Japan, Malaysian Armed Forces Central Command, Sabah Command HQ (Malaysia), Royal Australian Air Force, Chunghwa Telecom (Taiwan), Korea Telecom, SK Telecom, LGU+, Singtel, PCCW, TVB, China Telecom, LeTV (China), Tencent (China), Alibaba (China), iQiyi (China), China Netcom (China), and OEM partners including LG Electronics, Huawei and NTT Electronics. Brought Media Excel into 30+ channel partners across Asia since August, and signed key SIs including CSS and NDT in China, Itochu Cable and EVC in Japan, Hitron in Taiwan, Amber Technologies in Australia.

Specifically responsible for management of strategic (OEM) relationship with Huawei in China on deployment of cable network solution to broadcasters throughout China. Also responsible for management of strategic relationships with Ericsson and Tandberg on provision of IPTV solutions to telecom service providers throughout Asia. Kasenna acquired by Espial of Canada.

Responsible for developing and managing operations in China and throughout Asia for location-based services platform provider (GPS systems software, Mapping provider for Google, Yahoo, Ask etc.). Operation set up in Shanghai including technical and sales support staff. Initial sales generated from mobile carriers (China Mobile, China Unicom), automotive OEMs and PND (Personal Navigation Device) ODMs in Taiwan, China, and Korea and large dotcoms in China and throughout APAC. Overachieved 2007 target by 180% for the year.

Responsible for developing and managing operations throughout Asia for US NASDAQ producer of Voice over DSL (VoDSL) and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Integrated Access Devices (IADs) and IPDSLAMs. Successfully developed new distribution channels in Greater China, India, SE Asia, and Australia where revenue was increased by 150% with the signing of major carriers including Singtel/Optus, Primus, Powertel and Nextep. Major projects completed in Taiwan (Chunghwa Telecom), India (BSNL), Singapore (Starhub and Singtel), Thailand (CAT, TTT) and China (CNC).

Developed Asialink as first ASP (Application Service Provider) for SAP in China. Obtained licensing from Shanghai Posts and Telecoms Administration (SPT) and the Shanghai Munipal Government. Built WOFE (Wholly-Owned Foreign Enterprise) in Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone (Shanghai) and set up offshore holding entity to ensure control. Obtained first technology license for a foreign telecoms service provider in China from Shanghai Posts and Telecoms Administration and set up operations including datacenter and 24-hour call center. Hired and managed a team of 50, including consultants, sales managers and primary support personnel. Customers included Alcatel China, Shanghai Post and Telecoms (SPT), and BaoSteel.

Regional Managing Director Asia-Pacific. Responsible for developing and managing operations including production, sales and support throughout the region from Shenzhen production facility. Concluded several large OEM projects with national telecommunications carriers including: PCCW (Hong Kong), NTT (Japan), Chunghwa (Taiwan), Zhongxing Telecom and Huawei (China). Also concluded several large government projects throughout Asia including Korean Army, Ministy of Prisons India, National Auditing Board of Pakistan, National Army of Indonesia.

Regional Director, Greater China and North Asia. Responsible for setting up China Representative Office in Shanghai and obtaining government approvals to distribute and support large customers in China. Built team of 15 sales and technical support personnel in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou field offices. Directly sold and managed several key projects including Liantong (China Unicom), China Telecom Distance Education Network, People’s Bank of China Teleconferencing Network, China Emergency Services Network (Central Government – Beijing – linking all provincial governors of China), China Telemedicine Network (linking Ministry of Health with key provincial hospitals, Chunghwa Telecom (Taiwan) and the National Army of Taiwan.

General Manager, China. Responsible for building operations for Polycom systems in China. Obtained license for China Representative Office. Obtained regulatory (telecoms) approvals for all Polycom systems in China. Developed distribution channels, set up sub-representative offices in 3 cities, hired and managed sales and technical support personnel while directly managing customer relationships. Concluded OEM partnerships with Eastcom (Motorola JV) in Hangzhou, and Zhongxing Telecom and Huawei in Shenzhen and closed large direct projects with key customers such as China National Offshore Oil (CNOOC), Sinopec (China Petroleum), the PLA (Army). Concluded projects with several provincial telcos throughout China including Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Guangdong, Sichuan and Zhejiang. Concluded projects with all major banks in China including ICBC (Industrial and Commercial Bank), Bank of China and Central Bank of China (People’s Bank) national network.
