With a mask shortage during the COVID-19 pandemic, my partner and I worked with our San Diego community and extended network to accomplish the following within 5 months:- Donated 6,000+ masks to healthcare workers and healthcare facilities in Southern California- Raised over $5,500 in GoFundMe donations - Procured Halyard H600 Sterilization Wrap material and all other material to manufacture up to 7,000 masks- Designed a protective mask alternative using initial research from the University of Florida (https://anest.ufl.edu/clinical-divisions/mask-alternative/)- Created and assembled mask "kits" to give to volunteer sewists to scale up manufacturing: one kit makes 20 masks and includes instructions to manufacture masks- Collaborated with the San Diego community to set up a distribution network including 12 drop-off/pick-up locations around the San Diego area - Managed a team of 100+ volunteers to coordinate mask kit sign-ups, mask completion, distribution, etc.- Facilitated donations to different healthcare facilities. - Interbody Product Development- Collaboration with surgeons to research and develop world class procedures with innovative and robust products to transform spine surgery, and improve patient outcomes.

- Research focused on expanding the functionality and dexterity of purely mechanical body-powered upper limb prosthesis.- Design and development of the Yale GrabLab Hand - A novel anthropomorphic, multi-grasp, body-powered terminal device.

- Designed and fabricated rotary controls for better accuracy, safety, and efficiency in film production. Estimated a 30% reduction in line breaks related to equipment positioning which will yield a $35,000 annual savings.- Presented rotary control projects to supervisors, and requested management approval.- Working part time during the school year to see summer projects through to installation, while currently responsible for multiple projects involving operator accuracy and safety in the final stages of production.

- Planned and facilitated two 90 minute sessions each week for students in Pre-Calculus and Calculus I. - Communicated and collaborated with the course instructor.- Assisted students in gaining effective study skills to maximize their potential for academic success.- Guided students in all physics classes with homework and problems twice per week as a walk-in tutor.

- Supported personnel for a LM6000 natural gas turbine engine change out. - Monitored turbine control, emissions, and support.- Checked operation of and inspected plant equipment including: CEMS (Continuous emissions monitoring system), Transformers, Ammonia, Natural Gas, demin. water tank, gas compressor, air compressor, breakers, boiler, and power supply.
