As a Senior Firmware Engineer working for a small team in a major commercial satellite communications company I have worked on several FPGA designs, my responsibilities include:• Ownership of projects through the whole development cycle.• Producing: Requirement, Design, Software and Test, specifications.• Reviewing of: specifications, circuit schematics, and code.• Firmware development (design, coding, simulation and test) in VHDL.• CV critique and interviewing of Firmware Engineer candidates for vacancies.

As a Development Engineer working in the Radio Systems department I have had experience of taking several projects through the product life-cycle, my responsibilities included:• Producing development plans and taking ownership of design.• Producing specifications for design and test.• Reviewing circuit schematics and specifications.• Component selection for design task.• Designing PCB circuits with schematic capture in CAD package.• Firmware development (design, write and test) for embedded designs in: VHDL, Verilog, 'C' and Assembly code.• Simulation and integration/development testing.

After graduating I worked in the Telecomms department.The job involved: • Theory of synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH).• Network design.• Answering: RFI’s, RFQ’s and technical tenders.• Technical tender vets.• Writing factory and site test specifications, configuration documents.• Designing equipment configurations based on customer requirements.• Interfacing with customers.
