Motivated and Accountable. My name is Kevin Liu, and I am a freshman at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University-Bloomington. I am currently majoring in Finance and pursuing a minor in Statistics. I am an active member of my student organizations, Chinese Business Association and Forward Financial Initiative.I am strongly grounded by the people around me, my competitive nature, and my empathetic outlook. I thrive in environments where team collaboration is emphasized and where strong moral values guide the work. My leadership roles in various non-profit organizations have helped me develop skills in effective communication, strategic planning, and team collaboration. These experiences taught me the importance of accountability and how to motivate diverse teams toward a common goal. They also developed my problem-solving abilities and adaptability to different environments. Growing up in Chicago and St. Louis, I developed a strong connection to the Midwest region, which influenced my decision to attend the nationally ranked Kelley School of Business at Indiana University to further develop my skills and staying close to the communities I value.My personal values—initiative, accountability, and open-mindedness—are key aspects of how I approach both my personal and professional life. I’m interested in quantitative analysis and meeting new people, as they allow me to engage both intellectually and socially. In the short term, I hope to immerse myself in the Bloomington community, whether by becoming more involved in student and professional organizations or by giving back through volunteering. I believe these experiences will help me develop leadership skills and expand my network while also contributing positively to the community. In the long term, I hope to leverage my experiences within the community when I look for opportunities within the finance industry and create a positive environment for others.
