Worked on-site (2/12 – 1/13) at the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC), within the organization's IT Department. Primary role involved implementing an asset management software system (Cartegraph). Additional duties performed included geospatial data collection, creation and analysis, map production, software exploration & testing, custom Cartegraph form and report generation, robust user guide creation, and employee training. Major achievement resulted in the successful creation of an interactive mapping application (via Esri’s ArcReader) for DRJTBC’s Engineering Department. This allows non-GIS users to access and identify real-time GIS information that is critical in their day-to-day operations.

Provided advanced geospatial analysis and technical support duties to numerous projects at the federal, state and local levels, as well as supporting various community and transportation planning related projects. Experience includes high-end geospatial analysis, database management and maintenance, troubleshooting, QA/QC and related GIS/IT services, as well as the development, testing, and training of custom-built GIS and web-based project applications. Additional roles have included staff supervision, off-site technical support training, client consultation, website creation, graphic design, user guide writing, and project coordination. Served as a GIS Reservist for the Mapping and Analysis Center at FEMA Headquarters in Washington D.C. This position provided direct on-call GIS/mapping support during Presidential Disaster Declarations to the on-site Emergency Support Teams. Was the geospatial lead on providing hazard vulnerability and risk assessment analysis to over 30 county Hazard Mitigation Plans, using GIS and HAZUS technologies.Acted as the facilitator between the database programmers and Client for three major projects for FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency), PEMA (Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency), and the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). I translated client needs into technical database designs and application conceptualizations for programmers, served as the database/application testing lead, and worked with the programmers until the client’s vision was realized.Provided over 9 years of support to FEMA's National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

As a member of the Technical Support Services Group for the National Mapping Division at the United States Geological Survey (USGS), analyzed and interpreted cartographic source data for the publication of USGS State Map Lists and State Indexes, maintained data integrity of numerous geographic databases, provided detailed staff reports and helped with the redesign of the ASPRS database for the incorporation of its metadata into Geospatial Data Architecture. Assisted in the creation of the nationally distributed USGS Single Sheet Quad Index for California and Colorado, utilizing ArcView, ArcGIS and Adobe Illustrator.

As a Land Development/Subdivision and Historic Preservation Planning Intern, reviewed land development and subdivision proposals for Delaware County’s municipalities, ensuring compliance with local zoning and subdivision regulations. Prepared written reports on submitted land development/subdivision proposals to senior staff and the Planning Commission, as well as supplying information to the public, and aiding in the coordination of task force meetings for the County’s Comprehensive Plan. Assisted in compiling architecture history by conducting on-site evaluations of historically significant structures. From gained knowledge of local and national preservation ordinances, the direct and indirect influences of planning issues on historic structures were documented for review by the County Planning Commission.
