I am the Municipal Energy Manager for the coalition of the Town of Athabasca, Athabasca County, and the Village of Boyle. I'm privileged to be working in a role where I get to use my skills to make a meaningful impact for three amazing communities in reducing their energy use, costs, and carbon emission.Previously I was the Project Manager of implementing energy conservation measure projects recommended in 3D Energy's Audit Reports. I also conducted field-level energy audits and level 2 energy audit models and reports. As the Project Manager, I created project scopes and charters, helped develop contracts with our clients, coordinated with contractors to obtain cost estimates to create grant applications to the Alberta Government to access funding for project implementation, then coordinated engineering, contract bids, and construction, followed by final project verification and reporting back to the client and Government. I was privileged to have worked with a cutting edge and industry leading company filled with forward-thinking individuals. Previously I was Project Manager, alternative energy system designer, and system builder for Think Mechanical Inc. With Think, I worked on geothermal projects, I designed and managed the installation of the provinces only Sunpump solar-heat pump system. I also worked on solar PV designs, I designed and installed a residential solar thermal system, and I developed a method for testing the TC of a new kind of piling system for use in place of HDPE ground loops, using existing software and technologies; I collaborated with the NAIT ALTE program to include students in the TC test. I utilized the research and technical writing skills I developed during my post-secondary studies at NAIT, I contributed to marketing and corporate strategy.I graduated from NAIT's Alternative Energy Technology program with honors. I'm continuing to building a career consistent with this training. My primary interests include Energy Management, research in energy storage, biogas, geothermal, as well as, designing solar PV and solar thermal systems. I have also taken the CEM course and written the exam, and have taken the Certified RETScreen Professional training course.
